President & CEO
Clifford D. Dawkins, Esq. leads the Urban League of Morris County as President and CEO, bringing a unique perspective shaped by the organization's own programs. A former ULMC scholarship recipient, he went on to earn an Ivy League education and a distinguished career in law and civic leadership before returning to lead the very institution that helped launch his future.
Under his leadership, ULMC is executing the ASCEND Capital Campaign — a $2.5M initiative to transform the organization from a crisis-management charity into a self-sustaining social enterprise. The campaign is structured around two pillars: a $1.5M Permanence Fund for long-term endowment and a $1.0M Innovation Fund to build scalable workforce and education programs.
Dawkins' legal background and lived experience as a program beneficiary position him uniquely to navigate the intersection of advocacy, policy, and economic empowerment. He is committed to ensuring that every dollar invested in ULMC produces measurable, lasting impact for Morris County families.
"My journey with the Urban League of Morris County did not begin in the boardroom. It began in a classroom. Years ago, I walked through the doors of this organization as a high school student — full of ambition and a recipient of the ULMC's scholarship. That investment didn't just buy books; it bought a future, propelling me to an Ivy League education and a career dedicated to justice."
"I return home not just as an executive, but as living proof of our mission."
